Join Karina Van Brunt, LMSW for an in-depth look at the effects of Vicarious Trauma (VT). Whether serving clients in helping professions known to be susceptible to Vicarious Trauma or noting the challenges of individuals living with the repercussions of Vicarious Trauma, we’ll engage strategies to help process and mitigate Vicarious Trauma symptoms.
Karina Van Brunt, LMSW is a bilingual therapist at The New York Center for Children (NYCC) since 2019 providing trauma informed therapy services to children and families. Karina has an array of experiences in sexual and domestic violence work focused in healthcare settings including hospitals and NYC college campuses. In her different roles she has provided direct services to individuals who experienced sexual assault, intimate partner violence, stalking, and sexual harassment. Karina has coordinated and led educational events year around in her different roles as well as facilitated trainings and workshops for first responders and other staff since 2009.

- Identify ways vicarious trauma presents in different settings
- Engage strategies that may be integrated to significantly mitigate vicarious trauma symptom
