Clinical Supervision and Conflict Resolution
Clinical supervision is a vital part of managing behavioral health staff. As a supervisor overseeing direct practice staff, training and support around clinical case issues will need to occur. In addition, supervisors must be able to assist staff with navigating difficult situations such as conflict with other providers and clients. This course will focus on providing clinical guidance to staff as well as how to address conflict within the agency and assisting staff with managing conflict with their clients. (Trainer, M. Elizabeth Bowman, LICSW, LCSW-C)
Class 2 – 1:45pm-4:45pm (3 CEUs)
Performance, Personnel Issues, and Staff Morale
Supervising staff can be lots of fun! There are great ways to motivate people within your unit, to build a cohesive team, and to create trust and respect with your staff. This course will teach how to encourage and motivate staff to perform well. Participants will learn how to establish boundaries, address personnel concerns such as hiring and performance issues and most of all to be an inspirational leader. (Trainer, M. Elizabeth Bowman, LICSW, LCSW-C)
*Evening Ethics*
Class 3- 5:30pm – 8:30pm
Ethical Considerations in Social Media & Technology
“What do I do if a client tries to friend me on Facebook?”
“Is it OK to search for information about my client online?”
“How can I prevent clients from accessing personal information about me online.”
These are questions many social workers are currently facing. Social workers have long understood the value of relationships in their practice. The expansion of the use of social media and technology in recent years has created unique opportunities for new and different types of relationships. Social workers interested in utilizing social media for personal communication can find it challenging to navigate this territory without blurring professional boundaries with clients. This presentation will explore the risks and benefits of social workers using social media and technology in their personal and professional lives. (Trainer, Megan Mayforth, LCSW-C)
