Explore the gift of empathy with Miriam Beigelman, LMSW, MA! Participants will discover the effects of mirror neurons as they relate to empathy, along with techniques for tapping into empathy in treatment settings as well as understanding the significance of self empathy. This course will also discuss the role of empathy as it relates to gender differences, social norms and their resulting impact, as well as identifying barriers to building empathic connections.
Miriam Beigelman, MA; LMSW, has been working in the mental health field for almost twenty years. She holds both a Master’s in School Psychology as well as a license in Social Work. Currently, she teaches Psychology subjects for the City University of New York and provides counseling in a mental health clinic, primarily with adolescents and adults. In her spare time, Miriam enjoys writing about mental health topics as well as other inspirational ideas.
