Suzanne M Dunn, MSW, LICSW, CST shares with practitioners her vast personal and professional experience working with families of transgender, gender-queer, and non-conforming youth. Participants will gain insight around management of grieving expectations, important differences between curiosity and intrusivity when supporting families with trans or gender-queer children/family members, as well as useful tools and practices for social workers and mental health professionals who wish to strengthen their knowledge and become positive allies in the community for people who identify within the LGBTQIA+ population.
As an educator and AASECT Certified Sex Therapist Suzanne works at the crossroads of clinical social work and practical education after spending a career as a private contractor in the energy field figuring out how to do the part of her job loved the most full-time…connecting with people and mentoring their growth! Working with young adults remains Suzanne’s passion. Suzanne believes we as a society have missed the boat in educating our youth on how to be in this world – how to have healthy relationships, how to fight fair and make repairs, as well as how to really listen to others. Suzanne dedicates her work in educating others with this purpose.
