We invite you to join an eye-opening dialogue, gaining a deeper understanding of the intersection of race and the criminal justice system with Dr. Crystal McLeod. Participants will study the direct impact of the criminal justice system on the mental health of black Americans, including community impact and financial limitations as a result of their involvement within this system. Dr. McLeod will also discuss social norms and labeling theories, along with their impact on recidivism, while exploring the concepts of rehabilitation vs incarceration.
Dr. McLeod is the owner and CEO of Crystal McLeod and associates where her primary role is supporting executive level leaders and managers in the implementation of wellness programs within their organizations. As a therapist she supports clients in positions of leadership and management who are struggling to balance their career and personal lives.
Dr. McLeod has 14 years of active duty military service where she has served as a key leader in the Mental Health profession.
As a consultant and facilitator Dr. McLeod has a keen understanding of the dynamics that positively and adversely impact the efficient delivery of quality client care and the disruption of team progression. She excels at working in a collaborative, cross-functional environment as a thought leader. Her experience in process improvement, developing and managing programs as well as training advanced level clinicians and paraprofessionals is sought after by her colleagues.
