Join us for an evening with Nisha Tumber, MSW, as we explore Emotional Intelligence! Enjoy a thought provoking and fascinating conversation with Nisha as participants will define Emotional Intelligence and its unique features in contrast to other forms of intelligence, distinguish how Emotional Intelligence plays a role in life and relationships, managing emotional reactions, as well as ascertain core skills associated with healthy Emotional Intelligence.

Nisha Tumber, LMSW, serves as the Director of Outreach and Engagement at a prominent local nonprofit. Holding a Master’s of Social Work with a specialization in disability studies, she demonstrates her commitment to understanding and addressing the unique challenges faced by people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Over the past few years, Nisha has passionately dedicated herself to the cause, advocating for the rights and well-being of people with disabilities. In her role, she is involved in developing and conducting professional development trainings for employees and staff, strategically organized through roundtables and events across New York State. These initiatives aim to educate participants on the significance of disability rights, justice, and equity.
Nisha is a firm believer in the power of advocacy and lives by the mantra “be a voice, not an echo.” For her, advocacy extends beyond mere belief in change; it involves actively and purposefully bringing about change. Her aspiration is to continually advocate and drive policy changes that foster equitable conditions for people with disabilities and strives to create a more equitable and just community.
