In this webinar, therapist Shira Sameroff, LCSW, offers mental health professionals a deeper understanding of shame’s origins and development in clients. We’ll explore how shame impacts emotional well-being and shapes relational patterns. Additionally, we’ll delve into the crucial distinctions between shame and guilt, equipping you to effectively guide clients through their experiences. Shira Sameroff, LCSW is a therapist, coach, consultant and teacher who’s practice is rooted in decades of work with individuals and groups of diverse identities, ages and life stories in a wide array of settings. Her professional roles have included, fifteen years on the leadership team of a community-based social work agency, therapy, personal and professional coaching and training, teaching, community organizing and transformative decluttering.
Shira weaves together a range of therapeutic healing modalities including IFS (Internal Family Systems), somatic, nature-based and anti-oppressive practices. She offers professional development for individuals and organizations around themes including group facilitation, supervision, giving and receiving feedback, tending to self as a practitioner and trauma-informed and oppression-informed therapy.
The heart of Shira’s work is helping humans reconnect with themselves, each other and the natural world to enable deep individual and collective healing. Her approach is collaborative, intuitive, creative and full of heart and is rooted in her own lived experience of healing, learning and emerging.
