Join Paul Barnes, PhD, LMHP, as we explore the structure of Solution -Focused Therapy. Participants will gain enhanced insight surrounding the professional vocabulary associated with solution-focused interventions, characteristics of solution-focused practitioners, and an overview of an applied 8-step model of a solution-focused client session.

 

Dr. Paul Barnes is an experienced counselor, educator and mental health provider who has worked in public schools, higher education and community mental health settings. He currently works full-time at the University of Nebraska-Omaha where he has served as an associate professor, Counseling Department chairperson, and as Associate Dean for the College of Education. His counseling-related areas of expertise include solution-focused counseling, counselor program assessment, and counseling techniques. He is a recipient of the College of Education’s Outstanding Teaching Award and has more than 20 years of successful experiences applying and teaching solution-focused approaches. His style of presentation is energetic, positive, and involves the use of meaningful story-telling and humor.
