Ethical issues in Finding, Treating, and Terminating with clients!

A keen awareness of ethical issues is necessary from before you procure your client to the last therapy session.  With the therapy market being saturated, it is necessary to have a marketing strategy to attract new clients. Along with this effort to advertise services, come ethical concerns as to how one may self-promote without deceiving potential clients. Once clients are in treatment, there are a host of ethical issues that may. Finally, how do we measure success in therapy? When is it time to terminate? How do we determine what is in the best interest of the client? Termination and abandonment issues must be dealt with effectively so as not to cause lasting harm to the client.

This interactive training will help participants explore common ethical issues that therapists confront in finding, working with, and terminating with clients.  Clinicians will learn how to better navigate these issues so that they can best serve the needs of their clients through the provision of quality care. Participants will explore real case scenarios and learn how to apply the Code of Ethics to make the most ethical decision.  (Trainer Rabbi Shlomo Slatkin, MS, LCPC is a certified Imago Relationship Therapy Advanced Clinician. Class 2-  1:45pm-4:45pm (3 CEUs)

Ethical Practice for Couples Therapy!

Therapists are taught of our ethical responsibility to “Do no Harm”. Couples therapy is an area in which the potential for harm to the client is great as “unsuccessful therapy” can make a relationship worse and even lead to divorce. Besides basic competency in couple’s work, there are other practices of good therapy that when applied will ensure that the therapist provides a safe and neutral environment for the couple to work through their issues.

This interactive training will help you explore the best ethical practices for couple’s therapy as well as explore why working with couples requires a different set of core competencies than individual therapy. Through lecture and interactive discussions, participants will consider the various ethical dilemmas that arise in couple’s therapy. They will also learn how to better provide neutrality and unconditional positive regard for the couple.

Participants will learn best ethical practices for couple’s therapy that will make their work with couples more effective. You will examine real case scenarios and will gain skills that will be useful to all areas of your clinical practice. How can I be Ethical When You’re Driving Me Crazy!? Surviving the Emotional Hazards of the Workplace

The work place throws together people who did not choose each other, but were hired to work towards a common goal. Workplace dynamics create challenges for professionals as they struggle to achieve their own goals while meeting the objectives and expectations of the organization. But what are our Ethical obligations to colleagues? What does the Code of Ethics have to say about this topic?

Working with difficult people actually affords clinicians an opportunity to hone their clinical skills while learning to work out unique challenges.

This interactive training will help you understand effective methods for working with difficult people and gain a personal serenity that will allow you to thrive while working through the emotional ups and downs of the workplace. (Trainer Jeffrey Davidson LCSW-C, LICSW, Director, CE You!)
