Alexa Donnelly, LCSW shares unique insights and perspectives in working with survivors of domestic violence as well the offenders. Participants will review warning signs, learn where to find resources, and examine the ethical considerations and nuances that often surround the complex dynamics where family, social, cultural, and legal systems meet.

Alexa Donnelly, LCSW is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with many years of experience in the disabilities field. Through her education and internship she has also gained experience with under-privileged minority youth and male offenders of domestic violence. Alexa had the unique opportunity to be the first intern in Staten Island’s first male offender program. She began as a direct support professional working with what was considered to be “difficult” cases. She practices very individualistic and personalized planning to assist people with disabilities to enhance their skills and achieve their goals. Alexa lives by the phrase “be the change you want to see in the world”. Although she knows that she cannot change the world overnight she is determined to change lives one person at a time. Alexa is committed to cultivating a positive learning experience and empowering environment for people with disabilities throughout the spectrum. She is always looking for creative and innovative ways to create lasting inclusive relationships to build supportive environments. She is determined to help others get a fair chance by opening her mind to learning and understanding what supports someone may need and what barriers they may face to achieving their goals.
